Why Jason started FlowState Home Solutions
In his own words:
I started FlowState Home Solutions LLC for a couple of reasons, but one in particular really pushed me to do it. About 10 years ago I started seeing a drastic change in the direction that this trade was going, and in my opinion it wasn't a change for the better. I kept seeing small family-run businesses that have been around for years selling out to larger private equity companies. This is happening all over, but really apparent in HVAC.
I quickly saw companies go from requiring nothing less than quality workmanship every time to compromising big time on workmanship and shifting the dynamic to more of a sales-oriented approach. A no-holds-barred attitude when it comes to squeezing as much money from each customer as you possibly can, even when it's not necessarily needed. Although there is a place for upselling and task options, it should not be the only concern.
It wasn't long until demand for the trade went up, but good companies with honest and skilled techs were few and far between. I wanted to do my part in bringing the workmanship and work ethic back into the trades. I also was tired of working for bigger companies making them richer while I still was just staying stagnant.
